Christmas at Arohanui

I had my Christmas shared lunch and secret Santa at work for the end of the year before we go off on our holidays. I ate soooo much food! It was delicious and I brought in my mums yummy home made cookies to share with everyone. For my gift I got a little tin of biscuits. What a year 2016 has been, I'm ready for a new year! Bring on 2017 😎

I had a lot of fun relaxing on the rope swing. It was a beautiful sunny warm day and I splashed my hands in the water fountain to cool off. I enjoyed hanging with my mates.

Turtle Time

We visited Olive, the Donkey Lady last week.  The donkeys are fun but I loved this turtle... Yoda the turtle the best.

Dress ups

I love to joke around at the centre so i decided to play a trick on the managers during lunchtime activities and act like a new client, I called myself rose and boy they were fooled!

Personal books

I was working on a new creation for my personal book art collection.  I decided today that next years book will be green.

Sensory

Was good fun in sensory, we used shaving cream, food colouring , and water to experiment , was very interesting and felt awesome on my hands! So cool to see the foam disappear with water

Dancing and laughed

It's raining today and we can't go outside... So I danced and laughing.

Halloween Disco

Friday was the Halloween disco, it was AWSOME!!!!  I was a mad doctor... did I leave an arm around here somewhere?  Muhahahahhaaaaahahahaaa!

I've finished painting my pot....now we're making a wobbly white pot,perfect for Christmas presents Dad !

My birthday

On Saturday it was my 25th birthday! I had a really awesome day, my dad brought I. A yummy big mud hare with my friends, they  all sang happy birthday to me. In the afternoon I had a fun disco in the sensory room and had a dance. 

Sensory room fun

I had a great time in the sensory room playing with cool lights in the wall and the fibre optic lights. It made for really cool photos! We had an ocean theme and played with a cool under water sensory toys. 

Aussie Aussie Aussie , oi oi oi

Had a blast on my trip to Australia with my friends, went to some awesome theme parks and shows, ate lots of yum food and flight was a breeze! Back to work now, can't wait to go back one day!

Pottery

I made coils of clay today in pottery,I built them up,one on top of the other, to make this big coil pot.

I'm Back!

I'm back from Australia.  Everyone's tired but me.  I was dancing up a storm as soon as I got back!

In Australia

I am in Australia this week for a fun trip!! My friends are all looking forward to hearing what I have been up to when I get back. 

Op Shop

I walk to the SPCA Op Shop every week.  I help them out.  We try out new toys and put prices on them.  We even clean them before we put them on the shelves.

It's fun to try out all the new stuff.

My Family Farm

A bunch of my friends visited my farm last week.  I showed my friends the cows and pigs, the equipment and the paddocks.  Chickens and calves were a bonus.

Art museum

I went for a cool outing to the Tauranga art museum. There was a lot of abstract art from Europe. I had a really good time looking at all of the different styles of art there for inspiration. 

Being creative

I have been doing really lovely drawings at the centre lately, this week I visited he Tauranga art museum and saw a cool exhibition about graphic art. How inspiring! I love being creative. 

Just dance

I had fun doing the just dance game on the Xbox Kinect. We listened to some really cool songs and I busted out my dance moves. 

Bayfair Outting

Had a great outting to Bayfair shopping centre, we looked at shops, we got a drink at a cafe of our choice (which was a goal of mine this year) and we even bumped into our Te Puke friends ! Such a fun trip. I love being independent and ordering my own food and drinks.

Action Sports Direct

We did a REALLY cool outing in Guys Group. We went to the Harley Davidson dealer and had a lot of fun.  They let me try out bikes and jetskiis.  They even took us for a ride in one of their FAST off-road cars.

It was a great trip and I posed for pictures of the best motorcycles anywhere.  🏍.

Master artist

I have been getting my hands dirty in pottery Making a lovely vase. I cut rolled out the clay, cut it to the right shape and then pressed a cool wooden stamp in to make a nice pattern. It turned out really cool I can't wait to finish it.

Fire Visit

Yesterday Steve from the Fire Sevice visited the Greerton centre.  We all had a great time. I may be a fireman myself someday.  Some of us took turns on the hose.  I jumped in the firetruck for a while as well!

Working on my board of goals

Today I worked on my goal board.  These are what I'll have fun with this year. I just finished my first pottery project so I have more to put on my board.  I was working on a picture of my van washing here.  Next will be Australia!

Frank Casey suit hire

For guys group we went in to Tauranga town to try on some suits at this pretty flash place called frank Casey. I liked trying on the suit but my favourite part was acting fancy in my cool outfit around the store. It was lots of fun seeing everyone dressed up and I even got to pick my own tie! 😊 

Playing jitters

It's looking like a rainy day today, but rain never stops me from having fun!  This is a word game called jitters.  The game is fun, but catch up time with my friends is more fun.  😎

Foodbank

Today I volunteered at Tauranga Foodbank...it was my first time and I enjoyed meeting all the workers.We filled little plastic pots with jam and margarine taken from big containers.My job was to put the lids on and wipe them clean,then I put them away in the fridge.....phew,it was busy work !!!

Did someone call 111?

Yesterday we had a visit from a St Johns Ambulance! Don't worry no one was hurt, I'm fine. We got to go for a ride in the ambo van! I even got lifted into the van as if I were a paiteint, it was such a cool experience and we got to ask the Ambulance officers heaps of questions. They were so friendly and funny. I won't forget this day

Am I seeing double?!

Today in sensory I made shadows under the sea! I got a fright at first and thought it was another person copying my every move!  But it was just my shadow and it was really cool making shapes with my hands and body. 

Sports

For our sports outing we stayed at the centre because it was too wet outside to go anywhere. We did a variety of exercises like ten pin, using the parachute, stretches and elastics. I enjoyed laying on the ground while everyone lifted the parachute over me. 

Look at my hair!

We went to the op shop and I got given this curly blonde wig to bring back to the centre! I liked putting it on and making people smile with how cool I look with hair! 

Dance Fever!

It's fun Friday and it's a void day for a disco!    I have a great day when we are dancing and it might my favourite thing this week! 

Mossops honey

For guys group we went to Mossops honey. I tried different types of honey that are produced there and I found them very nice. I liked putting my ear up against the glass to hear the bees moving around. 

Hobby shop

I went for a nice walk to Greerton village to visit the Hobby shop. I saw some really cool car models, hot rods that you could glue together and I really liked the mini super cars and racing cars. There were so many things that a bloke would want to see! This yellow big rig was pretty flash!
